I think we ll have a competitive product compared with Verizon s. Despite the greater latency compared with Nextel s service, Lauer added that Sprint PCS would provide other advantages including a variety of push-to-talk handsets. Read More

PTT Plc - 3Q14 profit to drop 27.7%qoq pchome from weak refinery pchome business PTT s 3Q14 net profit is estimated at B22bn, dropping 27.7%qoq. Stock loss from refineries (TOP, PTTGC, IRPC, SPRC, and BCP) is projected at B4- 5/barrel because Dubai crude oil price has dropped by over US$10/barrel at end-3Q14, while PTTEP s 3Q14 net profit is reported at B15.3bn, dropping 16.0%qoq. Overall, 9M14 net profit is estimated at B79bn, pchome rising 1.9%yoy, making up 81% of FY2014 earnings forecast. - Maintain FY2014-2015 earnings forecast We maintain FY2014-2015 earnings forecast under the global oil price assumption of US$100/barrel pchome in 2014 and US$90/barrel in 2015. Although FY2015 global oil price assumption decreases, PTT s net profit is estimated to grow by 5.1%yoy pchome in 2015 after increasing by 4.6%yoy in 2014 thanks to higher sales volume from every business. PTT s GSP#5 and TOP s refinery will be working at their full capacity for a full year in 2015 after a maintenance shutdown in 2014, and PTTEP would recognize pchome income from Zawtika project for a full year in 2015. In addition, as NGV price is raised by B1/kg to B11.50/kg (effective from October 1, 2014 on), loss from NGV sales is projected to drop by B4bn/year. - BUY We derive PTT s fair value (DCF) at B354 in 2014 and B405 in 2015. Though FY2014 fair value implies a limited upside, the current share price still has 10.1% upside from FY2015 fair value. Also, dividend yield can be expected at 4%p.a. We reiterate BUY.

Thank you for your observation of local oil price movements. However, oil pricing in each country has a different structure and so prices nitrome cannot be compared directly. Over the last four months, while the price of unleaded gasoline (95 Ron) in the Singapore market - which is the reference for retail prices in our region - has dropped by 24 per cent, from US$129.37 a barrel nitrome to $97.91, retail gasohol 95 octane in Bangkok has dropped 12 per cent from Bt40.73 nitrome to Bt35.80 per litre. Moreover, there were also adjustments in the oil fund collection, for example from Bt3.30 to Bt4.15 for gasohol 95. In Thailand, the retail oil price includes taxes and funds used by the government to stabilise that price in the country. This is beyond PTT's authority. Also, we have to take in account that the oil quality standard of Thailand is EURO IV, which increases the oil price. PTT Corporate Communications

OnBeep's "Onyx" PTT device
Saw a press release for "Onyx", a slick, wearable PTT device by OnBeep. (see OnBeep intro at link above). It's a device you buy that you clip to your clothing, it pairs with your phone's bluetooth, then uses either WiFi or cellular to connect to others. It was designed by a couple of first-responders who wanted a simple group-connected device that they could use easily & quickly during emergencies, without having to hold one of those giant handheld two-way radios that most firemen & paramedics carry. It looks really clean & slick, like the Nest thermostat for example, only simpler vimeo & smaller of course. It's also noteworthy that one of the principles of OnBeep is a former Motorola & Nextel iDEN product vimeo designer.
A single device costs $99, but it doesn't require any type of subscription (although it does consume data over WiFi or cellular), so compared to the $5/month/line vimeo that Sprint, AT&T and VZ charge for their PTT, this device would pay for itself in 20 months. Of course there are free PTT apps (Zello, Tikl, SDC-Now, etc.), but they all require you to hold the phone in your hand. OnBeep's Onyx clips to your shirt and all you have to do is press the big PTT button at the center of the device when you want to talk to your group or family.
Anyhow, this might be worth a look for any company or family that still uses PTT regularly, wants something that is more convenient to use than any of the PTT services or apps that require you to hold the phone in your hand in order to PTT, or people who don't want to pay the $5/month/line. 1444 Views vimeo Tags: none ( add ) ptt , wearable_tech , onbeep , onyx
Guess my question is (more for curiousity ), what does it use for the PTT interface, does it use an app or does it just use the native PTT that resides on the phone?  Sounda intresting to be sure.  TK241 Report Abuse Like ( 0 )

WATCHARAPONG THONGRUNG THE NATION October 2, 2014 1:00 am PTT is conducting a feasibility study into the construction an LNG (liquefied natural gas) distribution/receiving terminal with an annual capacity of 5 million tonnes in Myanmar, in order to facilitate onshore LNG transportation to Thailand.
The facility would be built not far from the Dawei industrial-estate can you run it zone at a location where the distribution pipelines for the Yadana, Yetakun and Zawtika gas fields converge. PTT hopes to proceed with the project, even though it is still waiting for the government to decide on the location for its 3rd-phase LNG terminal in Thailand, Nattachart can you run it Charuchinda, chief executive officer for downstream petroleum business, said yesterday. Currently, PTT has a 1st-phase can you run it LNG receiving terminal with an annual capacity of 5 million tonnes at Map Ta Phut, in Rayong province, and is building a 2nd-phase LNG receiving terminal in Map Ta Phut with a similar capacity - with completion scheduled for the second quarter of 2017. For the 3rd phase, the Energy Ministry wants PTT to look for a different location to build a LNG terminal, which would reinforce LNG supply can you run it stability for the future. The building of an LNG terminal in Myanmar near the gas distribution pipeline would also reinforce the stability of power plants in the western part of Thailand, said the CEO. The Electricity Generating Authority of Thailand and Ratchaburi Electricity Generation Holding both said previously that they would like to import LNG to generate power at their plants. If both entities were interested in joining can you run it with PTT in the LNG terminal project in Myanmar, they would be welcome to discuss the matter with the company, he added. Coal-driven plants still needed However, even with plans for a total of 15 million tonnes of domestic LNG receiving-terminal capacity per year, Thailand still needs clean coal-driven power plants to diversify the risk of being too dependent on LNG - and also to lessen the cost of electricity for consumers, as power generated from an LNG-driven plant costs more than that from a coal-driven one. The Energy Ministry is studying the new Power Development Plan (PDP), which proposes reducing the proportion of gas-driven power plants from the previous can you run it PDP, in line with the wishes of the new energy minister, Narongchai Akrasanee. The 3rd-phase LNG terminal would be needed to receive 5 million tonnes of imported gas each year, in order to support the 5,000 megawatts of power generated by the Gulf and Mitsui independent-power-producer plants, as slated in the previous PDP for 2022.
